Personal information means any information that may be used to identify an individual, including, but not limited to, a first and last name, a home or other physical address, and an e-mail address or other contact information, whether at work or at home, and date of birth. Personal information collected by the Victoria Flying Club includes, but may not be limited to, information such as an individual's name, address, flight experience information, pilot ratings, and any contact information such as phone numbers or e-mail addresses. This information is used to conduct regular business with our customers, in the form of newsletters, invoices, statements of account, and periodic advice of functions, meetings, and membership status. We also gather credit card information for payment of purchases from the Club. Additional personally identifiable information that is collected can include proof of aircraft ownership, insurance clearance certificates, medical clearance certificates, flight plans or flight logs, and pilot certifications.
When you join as a member, or otherwise use our services or products as a customer, you are giving the Victoria Flying Club consent to obtain your personal information by providing it to us orally, or in writing.
The personal information that is collected by the Victoria Flying Club will not be disclosed to any third-party without the consent of the individual who is identified by this information, unless required for the purpose of operating the Club, expressly consented to by the individual or otherwise required by law.
The collection of personal information is limited to that which is necessary for the Victoria Flying Club to operate and communicate with its members. The Victoria Flying Club will not retain your personal information longer than is necessary for the purposes for which it was collected and in compliance with legal requirements.
Access and Accuracy
We will do our best to keep our records accurate and up-to-date, but we need your help in making sure that your personal information is correct in our systems. Please notify us of changes or corrections to your name, address, phone number or e-mail address or other personal information (such as that listed above) that we may hold.
All personal information held by the in the Club database is kept securely. It is accessible only to Club staff and officers who have a reason to access it to do their jobs or otherwise conduct the official business of the Club. We may respond to subpoenas, court orders, or legal process. We also may choose to establish or exercise our legal rights or defend against legal claims. We may collect and possibly share information in order to investigate, prevent, or take action regarding illegal activities, suspected fraud, situations involving potential threats to the physical safety of any person, or as otherwise required by law.
